I’m saddened to hear the passing of Simon and in total shock too of his diagnosis that i didnt know about. I met Simon through joining the local Hospital Radio Station Radio Medica in Goole which was based then in St Johns Hospital on Boothferry Road whe we were 18 years old. He gave me the bug for radio and was always in awe of his talent and gift for the gab the total opposite to me i was very shy. We ended up becoming great freinds and spent many hours at his house. I think Doris his mum gained a third son the amount of time i sornt there listen to music and trying to edit songs on his music centre notforgettin playing on the Commadore Vic 20 for befor the jump to his Sega Megadrive. It was about this time he got the bug for computers / IT kicked in and i experienced the internet on his PC on dialup. Simon loved cars with a passion and spent many hours washing, waxing and buffing his Dad’s (Bruce) cars from Morris Marina, Toyota Corolla a Mini that we had a dodgy experience in… (The steering wheel wasnt quite attached tightly enough)eeek. Then onto the Ford Fiesta Ghia two tone very posh and Ford Escort LX metalic blue. Of course all the cleaning of the cars came with perks we had many a Sunday afternoon drive to Bridlington and always stopping of at a roadside cafe on the way back for coffee & cake. Simon was my bestman at my wedding and also God Father to my son Matthew. If there was one think that always came to mind with Simon was his perfect hair and the amount of hairspray he’d get through if was rock solid. So many more stories and memories of times with Simon those were just a few. Time pases by and I guess we driffted apart life kinda does that sometimes. I never forgot him and never will. He was a great freind. RIP Simon xx and where ever you are im sure theres some great cars.

if anyone has a family contact details or information about the funeral please rhatbwould be great to know.
