March 2022 Update from Kyle, Fraz and Amanda
It is with deep regret that we have to inform you of the recent death of Simon who sadly passed away on Monday 14th March 2022.
Funeral arrangements are as follows:
The funeral will take place on Thursday the 7th April at 11.30am and will be at the Goole Parish Church, Church Street, Goole, DN14 5BA, and then Goole Cemetery, Hook Road, Goole, DN14 5LU
Afterwards you are welcome to join us for a drink to celebrate Simons life, at The Viking Pub Goole, Western Road DN14 6RG
As Simon didn’t partially like traditional funeral clothing, we are asking if you have a chequered attire to wear this!!
Please remember you can post any update that you would like Simon to see in the lifestories :)
Simon was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in August 2020, just ten months after leaving our workplace for new horizons. Simon is one of an estimated 5000 adults living in the UK with this disease. As a group of friends and colleagues we have decided to raise some much needed funding for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA). We need your support!!!
This fatal disease affects the brain and nerves and causes weakness over time. This is something we have seen in Simon these past few months, affecting his ability to speak, eat and walk long distances, but this isn't affecting his sprit.
I'm sad you're gone Si - you were such a funny, kind and supportive chap and I'm honoured to have worked with you.
RIP Simon it was great working with you.!
Simon was such a lovely man. The world is a poorer place without him.
